I was born and raised in Worcester, South Africa, my interest in Art started from a very young age and I have been painting now for about 25 years. From about 13 years of age, I started experimenting with drawing in different mediums and then moved to painting in acrylics and oils, focusing on different styles. From the age of 16 years, I took Art as one of my major subjects in school. I never had formal training in Art after school and consider myself as a self-taught artist, constantly researching and trying different mediums and subject matter.

During my school years I attended courses in photography and later on also in ceramics. I also finished a course in graphic design. The exposure to all these different art mediums was a direct influence on my unique style today. My first job was as an art framer at a photographer’s studio in Worcester. The artworks pouring into that workshop was such a huge influence on me as an artist. It was there that I started to get familiarised with all the well-known artists around the world as well as local South African artists.

I prefer to work in a Naïve Style, and I find the creative process very natural. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that I can just create art and I don’t have to adhere to the rules of traditional styles. I LOVE to work with mixed media, inks, acrylics and pencils come to mind when I start a new piece. I’m currently attending sculpture classes and it’s amazing to see my style flows from my paintings over to the clay in my hands.

At present I live in a small rural town in the West Coast of South Africa. I am married to an engineer, and we have two children.
Thank you for taking time to visiting my website and have a look at what I do.
